T. Courtney Williams speaks to Wandile Sihlobo, chief economist Agbiz (Agricultural Business Chamber) and Maya a Silva, a research agronomist who is currently working with the ZZ2 Covid-19 Response Team about whether or not Covid-19 and the national lockdown have caused problems for food supply in the country. They also discuss the causes of hunger in South Africa and future challenges to food production due to the pandemic.
Wandile Sihlobo is Chief Economist Agbiz (Agricultural Business Chamber).

T. Courtney Williams is an equity strategist and facilitator who is passionate about deconstructing and redesigning systems with traditionally marginalised communities as the designers.
T. Courtney Williams is an equity strategist and facilitator who partners with organisations to leverage the power of innovation to build more inclusive, equitable, and human-centered systems. After several years in direct-service, non-profit project management, Courtney has seen how to design with intersectionally marginalised communities centred – and it’s not simply representation. It’s equity-centered prototypes that prioritise collaborating with communities as design partners. Courtney has extensive experience facilitating cross-cultural programs, international exchange programs, and advising on social impact projects. In 2018, they spearheaded a “food-love-life” program for house-insecure adolescent mothers in Washington, DC; merging their love for conscious cuisine with their activist-facilitator background to engage participants in a revolutionary act of self-love in a food desert, a dystopia.
Courtney moved to Johannesburg in July 2018 where they write, collaborate and design projects that centre the emancipation of all oppressed people.
