Youth Activism in a Time of Crisis by Simamkele Dlakavu, who is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Pretoria.  Her area of focus encompasses gender studies, social movements, and the ways in which African feminist activists make claims on the state and organise politically. Simamkele Dlakavu is currently registered for a PhD in the Department of  Political Science at the University of Stellenbosch: the title of her thesis is ‘Fighting Against Erasure: The One in Nine Campaign and Feminist Movement Building against Sexual Violence’.

Lara Reddy is the coordinator of Food Not Bombs Jozi, the mutual aid and solidarity collective. She also runs ReddWritingHood, her left editing and proofreading school. 

Angela Nomvuselelo Lesedi Phoswa is a radical feminist, poet, singer/song writer accompanied by the pianist Kwenza

Performance

By E.A.R.T.H (Every Action Reacts To History) Band/Performing arts movement from Pretoria. E.A.R.T.H was established by Lesego Montsho (Just Bl@ck) and Kabelo Sibanyoni (Khan B) in 2017. Having already showcased on platforms such as Dance Umbrella Festival, Celebrating our heritage at Freedom Park, Feast Of The Clowns and Smoking Dragon, in 2019 E.A.R.T.H decided to incorporate dance/movement, drama/poetry and storytelling in its musical journey. In 2021 E.A.R.T.H initiated further projects such as ‘Deep in the belly of Pitori’, and later ‘Life of a Busking Artist in 2022’.
